Agriculture, forestry and fisheries exports is estimated at $ 18.1 billion
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery eight months of 2012 was estimated at $ 18.1 billion, up 9.7% compared to the same period last year. The consumption of tea is better, Pakistan continues to hold first place with 16.5% market share, other major markets are also growing. Tea eight months, exports totaled 92,000 tons, with a turnover of $ 140 million, compared with the same period last year increased by 9.6% in volume and 9.2% in value. The average price was $ 1,493 / ton, approximately equal to the export price of the same period last year ($ 1,492 / ton) ...
For the August primary forest product exports reached $ 435 million, bringing the total export turnover of eight months to $ 3.15 billion, an increase of 19.8% over the same period last year. Of which, exports of timber and timber products reached nearly $ 3 billion, an increase of 20.7% over the same period last year. Most major markets are strong growth, the United States increased 31.7%, China 24.4%, and Japan increased 19.8% compared to the same period in 2011. With seafood, estimated eight months exports reached $ 4 billion, an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period in 2011.
